Not quite sure of the origin of mine. Body and axles are from a 1952 M38A1, no idea if it is army or USMC, but the TP 25 markings were in white, so I assume army. Frame is from a donor M38A1 from a junkyard, rebuilt engine I was assured was "era and more or less date correct". Engine assortments like the Cuny oil filter point to an early M38A1, but I really have no idea.

Marine core reinforced rear bumper, military transistorized turn signal upgrade, arctic heater, 11" drum brakes, 200L PTO winch, Huffy overdrive, deep water fording kit, RT 68 vehicle mounted radio, Trac Locs front and rear.

FWIW, I have a 1953 M38A1 that apparently went USMC in the late 50's. I found my apparent USMC hood number had been stenciled onto all five wheels. I wondered what that number was until the USMC history was revealed. I thank Wes for helping me connect the dots.
