I have actually seen quite a number of people having the transistorized system, and I haven't heard them complain. I may be being stubborn, but I really want to try that first. I just thought that the old relay system was more appropriate for my early M38A1, but I have a few later Vietnam era concessions, so at least that seemed more appropriate than going straight to a civy unit. I got these parts from Surplus City Jeeps (for the harness), and the other two items on eBay. If they are sold as new and do not work, by Ebay rules, they must be refunded, shipping included. I have ordered from John at Midwest Military and Army Jeep Parts in the past, and they stand by and will replace anything that does not work.

Please let us know when you have successfully returned an electrical part out of it's original wrapping for a full refund or credit replacement. We will all certainly shift our purchasing to that vendor.

NOS is not a new production part at Ebay. The Ebay buyer protection doesn't covered damaged or inoperative parts.

Well Wes, it might be their fault, but they listed it as "new" on eBay. Not even "NOS", which means they have to stick by the eBay rules! The cable is another matter, but that seems like the part least likely to have a problem.
