My jeep is a 1952 M38 with a 1942 Willys MB chain drive motor. The engine was rebuilt back in 1979 but never run. I am in the process of checking everything over and putting in fresh gaskets. The motor has what looks to be an M38A1 double pulley. I noticed that it is wider (6.25") then the MB single groove pulley and the groove for the belt is more narrow then a standard MB pulley. The water pump looks to be original to the motor and has a wider pulley. Will using these two together cause any issues?
Thanks,
Marty

If the two grooves that will carry your single belt are the same depth, width and angle and both operate in the same plane then no.
