Duble action fuel punp rebuild ?

Want to rebuild my duble action fuel pump. Know there are lots out there. Does anyone know one who makes a kit that stands up to modern fuel, espc the rubber ?

You need to call in your order and have the pump part number (at least the last 4 digits off the flange) when you call.

What is a "Shock Shaft"?

Perhaps you can point the "Shock Shaft" out to us in one of these fuel pump illustrations?

If you will look at the first illustration. The shaft referred to is the stem for each diaphragm. Notice that each is different. In certain models, they are an open spade type with horizontal spaces. You must specify the design in order to receive the correct diaphragms.

I've known that issue for years guys. Point I am trying to make is if you offer advice please check your info first. A newby would be looking for a shock shaft for weeks. However had you correctly identified what you are referring to as to what they are called in the parts & service manual the information becomes much more valuable and helpful. In this case there are no "Shock Shafts" anywhere on that fuel pump. The shafts being referred to are the diaphragm shafts (F & K) in the top illustration which are an integral part of the diaphragm and not listed as shafts.

The idea here is to offer sound advice that will help the guy with his problem and make the task easier for him!

THx very much for the information. I had hear of then and now for their kits before. I was a bit worried since the old timer supplier I've been buying from said he only carried nos, and they will disintegrate in no time flat with new fuels. He also said he didn't know any new kits he could stock for them that wouldn't break down ether. Have to give them a call some time next week.

Also a source I have used with good USA based parts and kits is Classic Preservation Coalition. His kits tolerate ethanol based modern fuels.

Then And Now will also rebuild your pump for you. I sent parts of two pumps and the rebuilt one I got back is working just great after years of service.

I took the pump screws off and once i saw the insides and how i would have to remove the brass rivet, i said "NOPE" and closed it up. Sent off to now and then on mon and got it back sat. Beautiful.
