M38 Antifreeze Marking Under Hood

Post by GAwillysM38 »

While sanding the under hood of my M38 this marking revealed itself, can make out first line 'ANTI FREEZE -ZU' second line partially illegible and '1952'
Is this a common marking on M38's? Wondering if it denote shipment to cold climate or just a normal maintenance marking.

The stencils indicating temp protection levels for anti-freeze were applied by the Army in the field on most of their vehicles. It was common and applied wherever the jeep was based.
