Fording Cable Handle

Post by Festus »

My 1950 M38 is missing its fording cable and handle... everything else is present. From my research it looks like it's a t-level handle - correct? Also what color is it? Black? OD Green?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the links... I had found those too... just wanted to make sure they were correct as some seemed to be black while others were OD green.

I think they start out black or green, cable is bare metal.

Willys sprayed everything that wasnt black in the engine compartment
OD, in parts, prior to assembly except the tub right Wes? Did they paint the cables and hose clamps and such after assembly? Good question.

67 years later takeoffs can be just about anything, but the handle should be OD. If not, sandpaper and some paint cure a lot of ills.
