E brake w/ overdrive?

Post by oldgreentrucks »

Looking for suggestions on modifying E brake handle to accommodate an overdrive installation on M38A1. Looks like relocating the factory handle about 3 inches rearward and altering the brake connecting rod would work. Other experiences on this?
Thanks!

There are several choices.

1-Convert to the M38 parking brake internal shoe drum and long cable.

2-Convert to the M170 system.

3-Modify existing handle to work with a cable type arrangement.

Brent Mullins has the cable, at the very least:

Any follow-up to post? I'm doing the same thing in 2019 and was hoping to see pics of it. Thanks.
