Starter Mounting Bracket Replacement

I ordered an NOS starter for my M38. When it showed up, the front mounting tab was busted off during shipping. The seller offered to send me an NOS end cap/mounting bracket. Just wondering how difficult it is to replace this part.

Anyone done it that can provide input?

Just follow the instructions in TM 9-1825B dated Nov. 1952 (Autolite Electrical Parts Repair.). If you do not have a copy you can download the applicable parts from our web site's "Downloads" page for free in PDF.

Specifically go to: Section VI. Group 4 - Four-Pole, Two-Brush Generators on page 101.
