Assembling the Distributor

While putting the distributor back together after installing the new bushings, I notice the distributor shaft plate that has posts for the weights to sit on has an "L" stamped on one end of the plate. There is another "L" stamped on the under side of the plate of the cam assy which sits on the posts of the weights. And on the top side of the plate there are the letters "LA" stamped. I don't know if they mean anything.

The question I have,

When placing the cam onto the weight posts, does it matter which post the "L" is next to? I am not sure if those letters mean anything.
