Barn Find

Post by 36x24 »

just trailered home an M38a1! Tub/fenders are off as a unit, plus boxes of unmarked stuff and hardware! It appears to have all its 24v equipment intact. Front seat frames and taillights are missing. no dash plates or tag behind the passenger seat. where else on the tub/engine/frame should I look for serial #s? It is so dirty I feel like an archeologist!

The only vehicle serial numbers installed by Willys were the dash serial tag and the patent plate behind the passenger seat. There were no frame stampings or plates. If the parts are mostly original to one jeep then you can approximate production period using our survey form. The axles, tranny, electrical accessories and engine all have date codes and/or serials.
