A new acquisition over the weekend (Thanks Jason) has me thinking of restoring my Air Force jeep back
to the original configuration.
This jeep came with a M38 arctic top and gas heater on the cowl.
The gas heater was missing, however I now have a mostly complete gas heater and still have the arctic top.
I was just wondering if there were many of these jeeps restored to this configuration.
That means that I would have to repaint the body parts that are now green back to the original strata
blue and install all the parts accordingly.
The only thing not original is the frame, that would be a CDN frame with the frame stamping of the CAR
number. This could be easily covered with body putty.
I was going to cover the "Jeep" on the front of the tool box with a skim of bondo to hide it and make it a
CDN jeep with a canvas tilt.
This would be nicer to drive in the summer but a bit chilly in the fall and spring. The arctic top would be rather warm
to drive in the summer, but it might be more unique!
Decisions, decisions.
I did find all the original stencling from the original hood and hard top to re-stencel the jeep back to original.
Ideas guys?
