Question on replacing brake drum hub bolts

While I have my hubs off the rear axle I would like to replace the driver side left handed thread hub bolts with right handed hub bolts. My question is, do these need to be pressed out and in or can they just be banged out and new ones hammered in. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

A hammer and brass punch works just fine.
