extending a wire on my M38

I've got to "extend" my #27 wire about 6 inches in order for it to connect from the switch to the instrument panel breaker on my M38. As long as I use the same gauge wire, I shouldn't have any issues, right? I'm going to use proper douglas connectors, grommets, etc for the connections.

Should be no problem, as long as you use the same size wire or larger...
