Hood Numbers Found...

Post by OKCM38CDN »

When my son and I went to WI to pick the jeep up from onabeach, we noticed hood numbers under the yellow paint...

I went out and got some 400 / 600 / 800 wetdry sand paper and a sanding block... about 30 minutes later this is what I found on the hood...

I also found this one under the first on the passenger side... In this one if you look carefylly you will see the both old painting and new painting... Looks like the military gave this jeep a paint job somewhere down the line...

Very likely the original reg # for your jeep. The data base has MD71354 with 201001152 and MD71832 with 201001531. Let's hope your good fortune continues with unit markings.

Does this mean the wagon project is in storage?

Wagon is still in progress... trying to get caught up with chores so I can replace Rear Quarter panels...

BTW the serial number for the new jeep is in my signature... and I have both plates, Patent and Dash...

I saw that. That is why I said your hood number is probably correct.
