If any one is interested,I uploaded a few pics to my gallery it's only a few of my M38A1 in pieces for now while I patch and repair things, and of a 1947 CJ2A that I'm rebuilding the engine on and some other work for the owner this is as close to factory I've seen in a while, even still has what looks to be original plug wires or at least very very old ones. The owners grand father bought this thing new.Page 9 under hill gallery.

Nice set of photos. Very interesting shop layout. Is the shop yours? Is it a business or private shop?

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CAGED NUT IN DSC01979?
GREAT PHOTOS. 2 QUICK QUESTIONS. 1. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PURPOSE OF THE CAGED NUT SHOWN IN PHOTO DSC01979? MY 1952 M38A1 (MD26784) HAS THE SAME ONE WITH NO CORRESPONDING HOLE ON THE OUTSIDE. AND 2. WHOSE FLOOR PANELS ARE YOU INSTALLING? FINALLY, NICE 2J2A! WAY BACK WHEN, A BUDDY AND I OWNED 2 1947'S AND WE ONLY HAD 1 WINDSHIELD, 1 INSPECTION STICKER AND 1 LICENSE PLATE SO AS ONE WENT DOWN, THE PIECES WERE SWITCHED BACK AND FORTH. AH THE FOLLY OF YOUTH!

Caged nut
I think that the nut is for the support rod for the fording tube that goes up beside of the windshield. and the floor is one that I made from flat 18 gauge stock the body shop instructor has metal working tools so I've been using my imagination and making a lot of things I have finished that floor and will post more pics of it looks pretty good so far I even made my hat channels for the floor.
