Fuel line routing on M38

Post by heut »

Thank you guys for all the info. I am trying to route the fuel vent line on my M 38 It looks like it runs across the tank to the drivers side then follows the contour of the body through the fire wall. I am not sure if thats correct but that's what it looks like from what I have seen. Can anyone offer more specific guidance? Which fire wall hole does it go through and does it tee into the line with the primer or ? I do not have a primer yet but will get one if it's recommended. I would imagine it would be a good idea being I will be sitting for long periods between running it.

Thanks again

Looking at the firewall (viewed from the engine side) you have either two (early firewall) or three (late firewall) holes in the bottom right corner (the driver's side).

The uppermost of those holes (just below that "L" shaped stamping) is for the fuel tank vent line.

Looking at the ORD-9, it appears that the fuel side of the primer pump tees down into the fuel line, and the vent line tees into the inlet manifold. Wes has some great photos and an installation manual in his fuel system album here:

Hope this helps!
