Wiring problem

Post by Deadguy »

I'm having a bit of a wring problem. The engine is back in the vehicle, and fires up heartily. The problem, is I can't turn it off without choking it out. Something is backfeeding current into the ignition switch, and I'm having trouble figuring out what. The ignition wires get hot as well, which is a bad sign something is grounded! If I turn the switch on and off, without starting up the generator, no problem. If I get the whole thing running, then turn it off, it keeps running, but it sound like at a lower level, like it's just running off the battery. Any suggestions?
