This distributor was original to the M38A1. As the correct IAU4006UT distributor for your M38 ran out of stock the IAU4006AUT was substituted. The IAU4006AUT has a centrifugal advance curve matched to the F134 engine but it will work on your L134 engine.IAU 4006AUT

I assume you meant to say " Does the earlier IAU4006UT have the same slot adjustment as the IAU4006AUT? Yes if you are referring to the adapter plate that fastens between the distributor and the engine block.
