M38A1 Tub Holes

Post by Silverback2w2 »

Is there a diagram somewhere that shows what holes are supposed to be in the tub? I want to repair all the bubba mod holes.

Thanks!

Ryan Miller's M38 guide book has them. And as I always remind folks a short cruise through my Photo Album is worth tons in easily found technical information.

The problem with identifying holes is that the Jeeps were used for so many different things and every different usage had different holes. So it's difficult to determine which holes belong in it and which don't. If you're going to make it appear as it was delivered from the factory, you can plug up all the extra holes. But I prefer to leave the holes that the military put there (and remove the Bubba holes.) The military holes add interest and character IMO. I guess it's sort of like antique furniture, some people prefer to sand it to bare wood and take out all the dents and dings and then refinish it but I think most people agree that that ruins the character and value.
