camshaft gears

Can the camshaft gear from an m38a1 be used on an m38. :?:

Yes.

We have both ORD 9 parts manuals loaded on the download page for your convenience and use. They are especially handy in determining commonality of parts and suitable substitutions.

ORD 9 SNL G-740 for the M38 and ORD 9 SNL G-758 for the M38A1 & M170.

The part number for the cam gear is 641282.

The part number for crank gear is 641283.

They are found on page 41 in the M38 parts manual and on page 49 in the M38A1 parts manual.

Don't forget to download the two PDF parts manuals and keep them handy when you want to know which parts are the same.
