When did the change occur from the flat leaf springs to the grooved ones, and why ? ~ Swampy ~

Having heard the many answers to that question over on the G503 there wasn't a change in springs by Willys or Kaiser. What happened was that the Army secured a second vendor for the springs and that new vendor's spring was the grooved ones and they were installed in the field.

Google M38 leaf springs and start canvassing those dealers that pop up for a grooved set or replacement main leaf. Place a post in the Wanted section of this web site, the G503 web site and the Willys Tech Parts Board.
