I am looking for an M38 carburetor, part number YS637S.
If it needs to be rebuilt that is fine.
Any offers or suggestions on how to find this part is appreciated.
Thanks, Farmer John

I believe that price is with the exchange of a rebuildable core, from Peter Debella. There is currently a later casting 1985 for for G740 YS carburetor for $85 "Buy me now" price, on EBay. It is from Brent Mullins Jeep parts, in Texas. It looks to be NOS. GOOD LUCK!

They are not built by Carter but are built overseas and Brent explains that he had quite a few of them and that he was unable to make them operate properly. This is what Brent wrote in his auction:
New unused model YS carburetor for the M38 Jeep only. Please read carefully. This is not an original Carter USA made carburetor. These were made over seas (I don't know where) as replacement parts for the M38's in the military assistance program. It is a beautiful carburetor, complete with gasket. I can not get one of these to run or idle correctly. I don't know what the problem is. I hope you are smarter than me, that is why they are cheap. Get them to work or use for parts. I make NO guarantee that these are anything other than a core for rebuilding.
