M38 Fuel Pump

Post by Skipanellin »

In looking at what is out there for m38 fuel pumps, it seems that some of them have a glass bowl, and others do not - all claiming to be authentic. The one currently on the jeep has a bowl. I'm thinking maybe the early ones had a bowl and the later ones did not?

Anyone have more knowledge than me?

No Bowls! The part numbers in the ORD 9 are without bowels. Ignore the BS claims and read the part numbers on the pumps.

To the best of my knowledge no m38 would have come with a glass bowl pump.

M38s use an intricate vac system to assist with the waterproof setup and operate the wiper system. The glass bowl pumps do not have the dual action vac pump.

The dual action pump is specified throughout production and noted by part number and in pictures from early production.
