Hi,
I have looked all over town including Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, specialty plumbing stores and the internet trying to locate the reducing elbow that goes on the bottom of the mechanical oil pressure sending unit for my M38A1 (but wouldn't they be the same on the M38?).
Anyone have one that they are not using anymore that I could buy? Or is there a substitute way of making something else work?
Thanks for your help,
Kendall
Kendall,
The m38 mounted the sender down on the left side of the block with a 1/8" pipe male to 1/4" pipe female 90 degree street elbow.
The M38A1 has a different set-up using an 1/8" pipe male to 1/4" tube 90 degree adapter down on the left side of the block and then they run that 1/4" tube up to the bracket that's mounted to the head on the top right rear of the block. Then they use a 1/4" tube female to 1/8" pipe male adapter which screws into a brass 90 degree reducer elbow 1/8" P female to 1/4" P female under the sender.

Wes,
So what you are saying is that the elbows are different between the models? The M38's used a 1/8" pipe male and the M38A1's used a 1/8" pipe female ends on these elbows. The set-up on my M38 is a 1/8" female end and then a short pipe between the elbow and block. That would be the correct elbow for the M38A1?
Thanks, Kendall
