We will be running the East Coast Convoy to the Aberdeen (MD) MV Rally again this year. Scheduled arrival of the convoy in Aberdeen is Thursday, May 11, 2006. Past convoys have included participants from Canada down to Florida and as far west as Arizona... We have several serial groups that orriginate up and down the eastern seaboard that converge on the rally near the Aberdeen Proving Grounds (rally is actually held at Ripken Stadium).
There is no cost to participate in the convoy, and you do not have to have a military vehicle to participate.

Not only is particpation in the convoy a lot of fun and a great way to meet fellow historic military vehicle enthusiast, its a great way to enjoy a little peace of mind on the trip to the rally since you have safety in numbers...

Website for the convoy is:

Hope to see a bunch of you at the rally and in the convoy,
CGarbee
Convoy Commander, 2006 East Coast Convoy

Hey, that sounds like fun. I would love to see the Aberdeen proving grounds museum some time. I heard they are going to move some of the museum stuff, but I am not sure where.

I had not heard of any big moves of material from the museum, but I will keep my eyes and ears open for news... They do, occasionally, shift things around from one location/museum to another as all musuems do... There is a major, ongoing, program to clean up and restore the entire collection and move most of the stuff from outdoor display to new, indoor display both to protect and preserve the hardware and to reduce the chance of toxic discharge to the environment.
MVMagazine has a one page blurb on activities at the museum each issue...
Come and join us....

I'll let everyone know if I hear anything specific about changes to the displays of materials at the museum...

I heard that over on the G503. I don't know if it is true.

I would like to get over there some day.
