Yes. We still repair and build this type harness lead on modern piston aircraft today. The spring is retained by a left threaded pin that is screwed into the center of the wire. A pin vise is the ideal tool for removing and installing this pin. The red nipple just slides over the end of the wire and then you screw the pin/spring assembly into the end of the wire. The most common harness we repair today are the Slick harnesses. Champion now owns the Slick line.
This is a Harness small parts kit.
This is the tool kit.
I've got a PDF somewhere for the harness repairs & assembly instructions on the Slick aircraft harnesses. It can all be adapted to these distributor harnesses. _________________ Wes K

I have a set on my 52 and 51 M38. They are all the same length as the longest one and they fit and look great. _________________ Harold W.

I didn't purchase a set from this retailer but the set I bought looks very much the same. Fits well and has been working great.
