What is the serial number of your jeep? Is there evidence that there was also a hardtop installed? (lots of holes around the top edge of the body tub. Evidence a hood blanket was installed? (footman loops around the edges of the hood and grille. Evidence of a personnel heater having been installed? (4 holes on the cowl in front of the drivers side windshield.

I have seen these 4 holes in your step as part of a powerplant heater int installation as Wes indicated. I have also noticed some jeeps have the holes but were never outfitted with the kit. Was yours set up with the arctic gear at some time?

Tom,
The 4 holes became a factory item after the introduction of the kit. I have a note somewhere about when.

Those 4 holes and the indent on the inside lower aft corner of the right front fender were added by Willys to accomadate the kit. Lacking the other holes would indicated you have the later factory jeep with the holes in the step and the indent but never had the powerplant heater kit installed.
