In honour of “2005 - The Year of the Veteran” and the opening of the new Canadian War Museum, the feature theme for this year's ByWard Market Auto Classic is “A Salute to Military Vehicles.” The ByWard Market will be awash with the bristling brawn of steely chariots, which carried the fighting spirit of freedom through the ages. From WWII to present day, this will truly be an awesome display of motorized might from museums and private collectors alike. Meet with veterans from WWII, Korea, and peacekeepers from the Canadian Forces. Dust off your zoot suits and pillbox hats and jive to the swinging tunes of the big band era. And as you stroll through “The Market”, continue your journey with the finest classic automobiles the world has to offer. From Model T’s to modern hybrids, there are eight display sites nestled within the cobblestone courtyards and historic boulevards of the vibrant ByWard Market. Marvel at the American muscle car, swoon with the racy Italian designs, pamper yourself with British luxury, and be impressed with German engineering. There are timeless classics from every continent for your viewing pleasure. This open-air event is free for everyone. So rest and relax and take your time. And take your trip down memory lane for the 9th Annual ByWard Market Auto Classic. Pick up your program on Sunday June 5/05 that contains a map indicating the various display sites and vehicle types. Come on out before 1 p.m. to vote for your favorite vehicle! COLLECTORS - WANT TO TAKE PART?
