What is the purpose of the "Thrower" PT# 7374746 in the front housing?
It mates with the "Gear" PT# 7374862 which is the seal, sealing surface.
Is this a slinger for oil, if so how much oil and what type goes in here?
I have a couple of 25A Generators and none of these have this.

The generator with the slinger is the early type and the oil was used to lube the front bearing in the generator.

The later tpe of generator does not have this as they went to a sealed bearing with grease in it...

Hope this helps...

Hi Hal,
So if I rebuild the early generator and install the sealed bearings then I don't need the to install the slinger. Correct?

I would say yes, I had a broken front panel; the bolt hole for the bracket was broken off. I replaced the front panel and used a sealed bearing and it works fine... It will just look like an early style...

Hope this helps...
