I'm tired of the chi com senders that are working/not working/ giving weird readings. Anyone have a good original sender for the M38A1 tank. It's deeper than a standard M38. Right now a wood stick is better than the garbage I've tried to make work. Mad John

Update: Frustrated, I went through all the military steps of testing the sender, gauge, etc. and discovered the sender always worked and the gauge was all over the place. Good grounds on all. It ended up a bad gauge. It's now swapped out for another and works well. If you have any old gauges that are scratched, you can hand sand the plastic face with 1500 and then 2000. Wet sand it. Then take 3m buffing compound and hand polish it. You will be amazed how nice it looks. Wink

Glad you got it fixed John!

Did you remove the bezel on the gauge before polishing?

Toothpaste is another finish product.

Take care,

Hi Brian, no you can't remove the bezel, it's crimped on.

Actually there are several methods for bezel removal. Unfortunately they all leave you with a battered looking bezel. Sad
