I have my jeep running and all the lights working and installed except the front turn indicators. I still have to paint the hood, tail gate and assorted small parts.
My question is that as I contemplate installing the hood, possibly by my self, has anyone installed a few studs in the cowl to help hold the hood while installing it and adding the other bolts. If I leave the studs and just put some nuts on them I don't see where it would interfere with anything.
Any opinions?
That's how I did mine, studs to guide it in place ,then put the bolts in ,then remove the studs, and put remaining bolts in _________________ 51 M38 ,52 M38 ,53 Jeep PU ,62 M 37 ,68 M 715
Just use the cherry picker or chain hoist you used to install the engine for your extra set of hands. _________________ Wes K

Just set mine on the Chanel and bolted it into place by myself...studs would have been a good idea... _________________ '51 M38 #22936,

Thats how i do mine. I put down a bath towel on the cowl if I'm worried bout scratching the paint. Just leave one hole showing in the cowl. Get that one started, remove more towel and get another screw or so in. _________________ '52 Dodge M37, '42 GPW, '48 FrankenJeep CJ2A/M38, '50 CJV-35(U), '51 M38, '42 WC-57 Command Car, '44 WC-51 Weapons , (2) M1941 Sperry 60" Anti-Aircraft Searchlights, John Deere M-gator, '44 White M3A1 Scout Car
I always do it by myself; put a blanket on the cowl and set it on, rest it on the windshield. Hold your breath. _________________ M38 23100 June 51
