It’s time to make plans for the 2007 Great Willys Picnic. This year it will be held on Sunday, June 10th from 10am to 3pm. Big Pocono State Park near Tannersville PA is the location again this year. We had a great turnout last year with 25 Willys vehicles and over a hundred enthusiasts. Bring your Willys vehicles and accessories no matter what stage they are in. Restored, unrestored, projects, and interesting parts are all great to see! We will have a peoples choice contest and an informal swap meet (items for sale in back of vehicles only - no tables allowed).
The Picnic is always free - No registration is necessary. There are plenty of barbecues, picnic tables and trees - bring your own lunch.
Driving Directions
I-80 to Exit 299 (old exit 45) Tannersville. (Follow the signs to Big Pocono State Park, Camelback Ski Area and Camelbeach Waterpark.)
Turn right at the end of the ramp on Route 715 N.
At the first light turn left on Sullivan Trail (PA 4002).
Go 1 mile and make a left turn on Camelback Rd (PA 4006).
Drive 4 miles up the mountain. You will pass the ski area and water park and continue into Big Pocono State Park. Make a right turn onto the one way loop road.
The Picnic will be in the first parking area on the one way loop road. (Please plan to park tow vehicles and trailers in the second parking lot to free up much needed space)

If you did not attend The Great Willys Picnic this year you missed a really good time! Although there was a less than favorable weather forecast, and ominous clouds, people brought Jeeps from at least 5 North East states to Big Pocono State Park in Pennsylvania. Where else can you see so many vintage Jeeps and a couple trailers when it looks like rain? Fortunately we only got a few minutes of drizzle. Military vehicles were well represented with a GPW, CJV35, M-38, M-38A1 and an M151 in attendance. First place in the Peoples Choice contest went to Mike Hardesty’s impressive 1951 CJ-3A. We had to have a show of hands to break the tie for second place. Randal Bonds 1958 FC 150 and the 1950 Pickup Truck owned by Tom and Rosemary Firestone had an equal number of votes. The Forward control went away with the second place honors. Contest prizes were donated by Walcks Four Wheel Drive. Dan was there to represent Walcks this year and brought free baseball caps and pens for everyone. Complementary copies of LowRange magazine were also available to all. The May/June 2007 issue contained an article and photos from the 2006 Great Willys Picnic. The informal swap meet was a big success as usual. A coveted Station Wagon “7th Seat” changed hands at a very reasonable price, as well as many other parts. It was another fun day chatting with all the Willys enthusiasts and seeing the variety of Jeeps. I can’t wait for next year’s picnic on Sunday, June 8th. Look for announcements on your favorite Willys web-forum and www.cj3a.info/picnic
