All except the first sentence, I knew the link's complete description before I posted above.
I explained in my post above that the link's description is a good match for our 425380 hex bolt but since the rest of the original
Quote:
7372885 screw, int-teeth-lock washer, hex-hd, S, cd or zn-pltd, 1/4-20NC x 5/8 (superseded by BOLT, H101-0425380)
which normally is the description of a hex head bolt with a common slot or phillip's head drive.
Since none of us appears to have a guaranteed original 7372885 screw we cannot be sure what the original screw looked like.
I did survey all the illustrations in TM 9-804 dated Sep 1950 and most of your list of original 7372885 screws did not show any screw driver common slots or phillip's drive indents. So it is quite possible the screw in the link may be useable for the 2372885 screws as well. _________________ Wes K

Hi Mike,
I don't think we'll know if washer head is correct until we see an original survivor from a M38.
I searched their web site and it appears that washer head is the only kind they have with internal tooth lock washers in that style and size.
They have some regular hex heads listed, but only with external tooth lock washers.
Unless they're not listed. Would have to call them to find out. _________________ Ron D.
