Hi Ray,
"Snow-balled"? "Misunderstanding"? Not until we see Wes' reaction I think.
Hopefully it won't be a double-down avalanche.
I think conversing clearly over the interweb between reasonable people who share a common interest (jeeps) is hard to do even on a good day.
Throw in some technical chatter and it can approach near impossible real fast.
And some folks have bad days and ought to stay away from it but don't --- and I think this was one of those days.
But it's no fault of April's that I can see.
And as a bonafide "member" I feel obliged to say my piece about it.
I'm glad to see you and others doing the same.
It's what makes America great.
Let the chips fall where they may.
Hopefully the damage isn't permanent. This site is a rare gold mine.
We'll see. _________________ Ron D.

Yeah half the info on here would take a while to find anywhere else. Definitely agree arguments get started over cars around our house all the time , but hey everyone has a bad day, let's just see how this all unfolds or refolds . Tempers flare people get pissed off that's life, but it does remind me of something my dad says," It's better to be pissed off than To be pissed on ." _________________ 61 M170

Well......before I get 86'd off this site and this thread gets vaporized, I thought I'd mention I just had an a$$-chewing PM exchange with Wes.
Apparently it's all my fault.
If anybody is interested in seeing it, send me an email.
By the way, you might consider copying this thread to your word processor so when Wes vaporizes it and later pretends it never happened you can look at it and believe it did.
Me accusing him of deleting threads he doesn't like is also one of my crimes. _________________ Ron D.

Hello Ronnie,
If you need to bash me for not appreciating Aprils name calling why don't you post the whole ten yards?

Look- I get it. this is your sand box and for all the million times you have been helpful, you also have an air of arrogance. I also have 24 years of military experience of which 12 of those years deployed onboard ships, and all in Engineering! I didn't go from E1 through E7 to CWO2 as a Naval Engineer and up to 03E Engineer Officer of a 270 foot long cutter because of my looks trust me. Maybe I actually do know some things. Maybe I actually do study.
I read a post in the dozens of searches I have done and you specifically called someone out for not checking your photo album and to do that before asking a dumb question. Enough.

Miss April,
Please feel free to leave this awful site anytime you feel it to be at your advantage. I have never posted the sentence you just posted above. Yes I have referred folks to my album for answers to simple questions but your misrepresentation of my comments is off this planet. Yes when folks ask questions here and the question clearly shows the person does not understand the system and has not completed any serious research then instead of handing them answers on a platter I give them the page number in the appropriate manual or guide to solve their issue. Call it arrogance but where I come from it's called challenging folks to meet higher expectations. If you feel you are already on top of everything then you really have no need for this web site.

I suspect a lot of people do not come back because of the prickly environment this (and many) forum takes on. Should I leave? I don't feel the need to; but if you want me to leave then you have to say it. I will leave your sandbox.

April,
No I will not expell you from the sandbox. I will offer you a tube of vaseline and suggest where you place the sandbox. I have tired of the laziness I find among the newer folks here who treat this web site like a Facebook Page. I think I have had enough of the last 26 years with this site and your type.
Also, please do not accuse me of mysteriously deleting any thread!
Why don't you & April team up and start managing and paying for this web site and devoting large chunks of your life to it!
Note,
This is the proper way to have an agitated discussion!

Hi Wes,
My name isn't "Ronnie" and you know that. I guess I know where you stand by your 10-cent insult. I'm a big boy and can take it. So can April.
Believe it or not, most folks following this discussion have seen all those posts where you rudely and unprofessionally insulted a member for no reason.
They don't need me to repeat the whole string. They know what you did.
Yes, you have deleted threads in the past that you don't like --- and you know you have. You also know there's no way for me to prove that or I would --- because you deleted them. Convenient for your juvenile chickenshit (USAF term) isn't it.
If you want problems resolved in private by PM, why don't you take your own medicine and insult April in private? When you made this public you make it fair game. Can't stand the heat in the kitchen?
I hope you have a nice day. The past couple of days sure haven't been nice.
Looking at the "welcome page" again, it seems you've outrun the stated purpose of the great website you built. No more respect is really what you want?
By the way, I'm retired now so I have plenty of time on my hands. Unlike you, I learned not to get agitated anymore. Thanks for asking.
How much money do you want for the site? (Am betting you won't say)
Too much bluff. Isn't that what they call b.s. in your neck of the woods?
Do what you have to do.

Your skin is paper thin if you think that.
I thought a grizzly old veteran like you would know better by now.

Two wrongs make you right, eh Wes?
Who apologizes first?
Or do we go at the same time?
Reminds me of grammar school.
I think I'll wait a while.......on the high ground.
Your rude-crude and unprofessional insult to a forum member was and remains uncalled for --- no matter when it was delivered. Especially low coming from the so-called proprietor of this site.
News flash: saying you have an "air of arrogance" isn't an insult in most parts of the country. And to a Mustang, it's a badge of honor.
Thanks for posting the PM exchange....some things need to be public. It's called transparency. Real men can stand in the open.
And it saves me the time.
Let the folks decide for themselves I say. _________________ Ron D.

Thing is, she never said she wasn’t changing the 24 volt bulbs to 12.
1. I’ve seen plenty of posts edited after the fact.
2. The insulting started on one side. It wasn’t April.
3. Vaseline. No further comment needed there.
4. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a post or question taken or read the wrong way, and an ass- chewing commenced. I’ve taken my share.
5. No one is perfect. No one has more experience or knowledge than everyone else. Sooner or later you meet your equal, or your better. Most of the time if you are lucky you find folks that have as much knowledge and experience as you, just in slightly different areas. So you share, and figure out what you have in common, and celebrate what one has the other does not. It’s called collaboration.
6. Nothing was ever gained by,”I’m the best, I know everything, I’m never wrong, I have the most experience, I worked harder than anyone else, these are my toys, my rules. If you don’t like them go play somewhere else”
Thing is, she never said she wasn’t changing the 24 volt bulbs to 12.
Actually yes she did but a post or two after I posted the references she admitted she had worded her original post wrong.

I guess I should have been more specific with my comment
"My Jeep will be 12volt. I checked all my lights- they have 24v bulbs in them, and work. But I can switch the bulbs to 12v ones. Sorry its upsidedown. I couldn’t edit for whatever reason. The 24v bulb in my hand is replaced by this #67 which I use on my f100 "
Should have said- I did change the bulb to 12v ones. The next pictures are with 12v bulbs. All the bulbs were changed that night- but whatever.

I say shake hands and continue with the mission.
Both original parties here are at fault Mr Wesk you did come out kind of harsh you basically acted like Miss April didn't know anything, which honestly would strike a nerve with anyone.
Miss April you did antagonize the situation by calling him out, but I probably would've done the same if I were in your place, so who am I to judge either party. But next time something like this happens pm the other party and settle it in private, the forum won't get stirred up like a hornets nest that way.
Would like to thank both of you for your service to this country. _________________ 61 M170
Thank you Ray for your pleasant comments! You are correct I was a wee bit harsh and April wrote more into my reference post than I put there. Have a pleasant day. _________________ Wes K

Hi Ray,
I took the liberty of para-phrasing your post. That's some kind of reply.
The "unwritten rule of this forum" (unknown to many) broken was a relatively gentle push back against the King's opinion.
Which resulted in an extremely rude and crude (vaseline) insult in return.
It only takes little searching thru thousands of forum posts to discover this unwritten rule --- many overlook it --- the wise avoid it entirely. I'm neither.
"Settle in private so the forum won't get stirred up like a hornets nest"?
I did the "stirring" with this post, not April. Can't stand hornets? Don't look. Or direct your pain at me, by PM if necessary.
As near as I can tell, there's been no apology, public or private.
My opinion: the crapola is still cooking.
Be careful not to step in it.
Best thing to do now?
Pretend it never happened.....and "enjoy the site" (if you can).
It's still a gold mine.
Just be very careful if you choose to address the King directly.
I think a dialog like this thread is necessary (and healthy) in a public forum once in awhile. But I'm not the King.
We'll see if it gets deleted or not.
Let me add "Have a nice day!" _________________ Ron D.

Also believe those who stir the $h!t pot should lick the spoon just my 2 cents no offense meant Mr Ron. I believe in this instance it was just to stir the pot without the penalty. _________________ 61 M170
