can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to set the timming on a L-134 if you don't own a 24 volt timming light?

Sure, just use a 12 volt light hooked to one battery; preferably the one under the hood. Ground is ground and the other end goes to the terminal that goes to the under the cowl battery, thus 12 volts... The spark plug end is the same for both types of system so clamp on and have a go... you will need the adapter if you have the waterproof wires...

Hope this helps...

It does have the waterproof ign, so what are you using for an adapter between the spark plug and the wire to pick up the signal when the cylinder fires? got any pictures of one of these ?TKS Dan

I just got thru doing this.

I took a piece off an aviation harness. But a solid core plug wire should work. Took an 8" piece and stripped the wire back on one end. Wrap around the lead from the distributer (#1 plug wire) and stick the other end inside the spark plug. Clip the pickup on this wire (mine's inductive). Just make sure nothing is grounding out.

Worked for me, didn't want to wait for more crap to arrive from UPS!
Spend far too much time forlornly waiting for the brown truck.

Greg
