Hello again,

Does anyone have a pic of the engine bay for a 1952 M38A1. I would like to see what exactly I have in there. It has been changed to 12 volt but I have been told there are some 24 volt parts still there.

Right now the engine is frozen so its coming out but it would be nice to have an idea of what is there. I would like to turn it back to 24 volt if its possible. Thanks.

Regards,

Paul

You should start with a good set of tech manuals. TM 9-804A Early M38A1 service manual has the best photos. TM 9-8014 Late M38A1 & M170 Service manual will also work. TM 9-8015-1 for Engine & Clutch and TM 9-8015-2 for chassis and running gear. ORD 9 SNL G-758 will cover all parts list data.

In the meantime review my photo storage site for a good set of A1 photos.

Hi Wes,

I have most of the manuals now but i still cant get a clear pic of the 24 volt starter or the generator, I have been told that the distributor on the jeep is the 24 volt. The generator is missing so that I have to buy.
Thank you for all your help.

Paul

All those photos are on the link I gave you above. Don't forget to visit this web sites "Download Section" at the top of the page. The late M38 electrics and the M38A1 electrics are the same.
