Hi Guys,

The fuel tank well and the passenger floor plan need to be replaced. Can anyone tell me how i can get the tank well out and what tools I need to replace it? Any hints concerning the passenger floor would be welcomed but first things first.

Paul

you'll have to take a wire brush around the top of it where it folds out flat and clean it up real good so you can find all the spot welds, then take a drill and drill them all out and it should come out (of course this is always easier said than done) . then wire brush around it real good and set your new well into place and drill small holes around it and spot weld it back in (i am guessing your talking about a m38a1??)

Definitally drill out all of the spot welds like stated earlier.

Also worth noting - An air chisel is also a good tool to have too. It can save a lot of frustration by helping you peal panels apart.

It is a bit much of a tool though, if you use it on good sheet metal, it can easily tear it up. If you use it with corroded sheet metal, you're not going to be destroying anything worthwhile and chances are the corroded metal will give first.

Make sure you have ear protection, they're loud when they do their thing!
