Timing Mark

Post by Scott21 »

I am missing the 5 degre before TDC mark pointer on my L head. Any pictures of what it should look like. I am almost in time!

A quick search of this web site will yield the answer to a question asked at least every 3 or 4 months. Do you have the TDC mark? If so the 5 BTDC mark is 5 degrees of crank pulley travel before the TDC mark. Or about the width of your pinky.

Wes,

I think I have the TDC mark, but it might where the tab was attached?

I was looking for a picture to compare. I tried to search and got nothing.

Scott,
I just ran the search function here using "timing marks" as the key words and got 86 hits back.

Here's a couple of the 86 hits:

Here are a few examples of timing marks out there:

It's best not to use the thread titles for searches since on all forums the thread title is very often related to only a very small percentage of the items discussed in that thread.
