Seat Belts for M38 Restoration

Post by Mateo »

All,

I am restoring an M38 this winter and would like to install seat belts with some metal clasp web belts. All the aftermarket stuff is plastic, etc. Does anyone know of somewhere that I could find something that would maintain the original integrity of the vehicle?

Summit racing supplies. Be sure when you chose a mounting place in the floor that you install a doubler plate on bottom side that is at least 3" in diameter and 1/8" thick.

chrome lift latch lap belt - Olive.

also check to see if some of the less jeep oriented vendors still have M163A1 20mm AAA seat belt kits. There was an MWO refitting kit in 1991 and the belts flooded the surplus market in the late 90's. They still show up at swap meets in boxes.
There have also been some gama goat belt kits at the swap meats.

:) I used seat belts from Andover Automotive in Columbia, Maryland.(410-381-6700) Check out their website. They make green OD seats with steel lift type buckles like you see on airplanes. Whats nice about their belts is that you can disconnect them from the floor mounting ring. So you can transfer them from one vehicle to another or remove them if you want to show your MV.
