Update starter?

Post by Keith »

Thanks Wes,

I was the one asking about a early m38 starter and ring gear engagement.
After reading and studying all the info & pics you sent me, I pulled the the cover off of the contacts and pulled the plunger out and found what I was missing the firts time. The small set screw in the end of the plunger hidding under the grease. loosened it, adjusted the plunger and tested a few times until it matched the specs you sent me, hooked up 24v and now it works perfectly. very simple with the right info!

Thanks again
Keith

I have found over the many years I have been wrenching that reading the book first then turning the wrench will usually yield much better results.
