Tool Box Drip Channel...

Hello guys!

Does anyone have the toolbox drip channel dimensions, or a "busted" one lying around that I can use as a pattern? Would like to add one to my jeep resto prject, so that all is kept "dry" in there for a while...

Hello Jorge,
I just went through building a new drip channel for my M38A1. There was almost nothing left of the old channel. I used the the dimensions of the toolbox lid. I started by making a long channel with side walls 20mm high and the "floor" 10mm wide. I divided the channel in four pieces (two long sides and two short sides). Then I made the four corners by cutting out a piece of the floor in the middel of each channel, the length of the outside diameter of the corner. Cut the one side wall through to allow you to bend the outside wall to the form of the lid. Then bend the inside wall with your pliers and cut the piece off that is too long. Weld the wall of the inside corner together again. Now you have a corner without a "floor". Mark the corner out on a piece of sheet metal, cut it out and weld it in place.

I made the four corners seperately and then cut the sides to the correct length (as the lid) and then welded them together.

I hope you understand my explanation (English is not my mother tongue).

Thanks for your response. Would you happen to have a picture or drawing? I don't have the slightest idea whet the cahnnel looks like.
