Original Body Tub?

Post by bigcol »

Just discovered my tub is branded with the word "Jeep". Located on the toolbox wall in passenger seat footwell of my 51 M38 (serial 11116).

Did the military roll out these M38's branded with Jeep OR do I have a CJ3a/MD Juan body tub?

Yep this is an M38 tool box. Note the three small rectangular plates on top towards the front for the decontaminator bottle bracket mounting. The M38 also has a louver on the front side of the tool box just outboard of the script "Jeep" and another louver in the inboard side of the tool box facing the gas rank.
