Gas can Strap

I bought a canvas 2 piece strap for my cas can. does anyone have pics of the finished product? How and where do you intall the rivets?

You can take a look at my jeep in the Photo Gallery section. From looking at my jeep one half of the set rivets at the bottom outer edge of the gas can carrier and the other on the backside of the can, on the tail gate. The strap goes through the jerry can handle and you adjust for the length you want from that. Hope that helps.

that helps some, but the picture in the manuals I have are not very clear. Does the strap with the clip on it go towards the tailgate or towards the road?

my buckle is on the road side. it's 12 inches overall from the top of the buckle to the "loop" in the can carrier.
