CJ-5 Engine Motor Mount Plate On M38A1

Can I use the plate off a CJ-5 for my A1? I know it fits in the frame but will the generator mount correctly. The F-Head in my current project has the wrong plate and they made it fit by bolting on an adapter plate.

Luckily they did no mod to the frame. The littlest things are miracles when you are rebuilding one of these old military jeeps.

The welded in round piece on the CJ-5 plate (where the generator bolts) looks a little thicker than that of one I used for comparison.

If I recall correctly the M38A1 plate is different on the generator mounting side and has a large steel doubler plate there as well.

Those plates are not that tough to find. The M38 uses exactly the same plate.

The plate I used to compare with was from an M38. I will just use the M38 plate if they are the same. That fixes that!
