vent line

Post by xheadnut »

The vent line on my MC is cut off at the tank, when I fill with gas some comes out of it as I drive. I do not have stock carb or air breather, what can I do with it, plug or run new line to somewhere else.
Thanks, Marshall

If your gas cap is vented you can plug the tank's vent line. If it is leaking then the check valve inside the tank is stuck open. It would be expensive to replace. You could put the M38A1 tank vent cap in place of that line and that would retain the vent function and provide spill protection with it's built in check valve. But anytime you vent the tank inside the jeep you will usually get fuel fumes quite often inside where you would rather not smell them.
