24v light on a 12v system

Post by Dano »

My M38 was converted to 12v in the 1960's. I would like to put the original tail lights back on it, but most lights are listed as 24volts.

Can the lights be converted or can bulbs be replace w/ a 12 volt bulbs?

The light assembly will handle whichever voltage bulb you wish to use.

The 24 volt lamps for the tail lights are: Small = 1251 Large = 1683

To use 12 volt bulbs go with: Small =67 Large = 1073 (short life) or 1156.

If you are driving it alot I would also suggest either using two left hand tail lamps (gives you two red tail and stop lens) or the full red Gama Goat lens for better visibilty for the folks behind you.
