My batteries were smaller also. Not as much as yours. I made diamond pieces of sheet metal and welded them in each corner to better catch the battery. The replacement terminals are not very good when it comes to clearing the hold-down brackets. I took ice cream bucket lids and cut plastic squares to fit under the terminals with holes punched to fit the battery posts. Added protection against a bad short. Once the brackets are tightened down, the batteries don't move at all. Al at Midwest Military makes the most beautiful bottom battery pans . Worth the money. Nice pictures by the way! John
Nice work Alan. You should do an article with step-by-step pictures on how you created this part. I would like to make a set for my Jeep. The CJ2A page has a great forum on user crteated parts. I am always amazed at some of the really cool parts that guys can make.
