Follow the steps outlined in TM 9-1825B dated 1952 if you have a Auto-Lite mechanical regulator.
Follow the steps outlined in TM 9-8627 dated 1953 for Delco Remy mechanical regulators.
There are no available publications for the later transistorized regulators.
There are also some special additional manuals that cover the 60 and 100 amp systems.
You can still find parts for the mechanical regulators.

There are many parts that are common to the civilian 24 volt regulators used on commercial trucks and emergency equipment. Contact your local auto electrical overhaul shop or your nearest heavy truck maintenance shop.
MV vendors of rebuilt units seldom offer the parts for sale.

Did you find a copy of TM 9-8627? I have the applicable pages of the civilian Delco manual on my photo web site if you need them.

Delco Regulator
Wes, the regulator I have looks like the one you have in your gallery. The part I need is the large port the cable screws to. There is a resister behind it. The threads are all buggerd up,corroded, broken. The schematic you provided is no help. It is a different style. I'll post a photo. Thanks. Brett

The civilian manual doesn't bother with the cannon type screw on connectors in their diagrams so you just simply imagine a continuation of the civvy type schematic to the pins on the connectors.
Did you find a copy of the TM 9-8627? It's illustrations will include the cannon connectors.
You can completely rebuild and test a Delco military 24V 25A regulator using either manual. You will need the Delco TM for a parts breakdown. And there is a TM just for that 1118606, 1118546 or 1118656 regulator. The two receptacles are ORD# 7374924 and 7374925.

This is your Delco regulator?

On the generator plug pins A&C get the armature wire from the civvy regulator schematic, pin B gets the field wire.
On the firewall harness plug. Pin B gets the battery or CB lead. Ignore the ammeter shunts between A&B since they are not in the civvy drawings.

The reason I have asked you several times if you have a copy of TM 9-8627 is that if you don't I can scan the applicable pages for you.

The Auto-Lite regulator is covered in TM 9-1825B dated 1952. The excerpts necessary for overhaul and repair are on our group's "Downloads" page. Just scroll to the top of this page and click on "Downloads" and then follow the indexes.

Brian,
Sorry for the Delco confusion. I hadn't noticed that Brett introduced the Delco question not you.
