Cooling system
The lower radiator hose on my m38a-1 has a reinforcing spring in it. The replacement hose that I got does not. Am I supposed to remove the spring from the old hose and reinstall it in the new one or do modern hoses simply not require reinforcing? Thanks.
Jim

If the new hose has an integral spring (acordian shape) then no but if the new hose has no integral spring and is smooth you will need to install the spring. The purpose is to prevent the hose collapsing at high RPM from the suction of the pump.
