hood filler piece

I have a want to buy ad on here for the piece to fill the gap between the right fender and the hood on my M38A1. How rare are the pieces , and should I just go ahead and weld in a piece of metal? Thanks :?:

not rare at all, can still be had in nos in the 25.00 range, DONT WELD IT!!!!!! I think brent mullins might have some nos ones but youll have to check
